Matt Harlan

[portfolio_slideshow id=1664] Houston favorite, Matt Harlan is a troubadour of the first degree, bringing his handcrafted songs to stages across his home state of Texas, the USA and Europe. Harlan is a winner of multiple songwriting accolades, from outfits like American Songwriter, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and Billboard. He was named Singer-Songwriter of the Year in the 2013 Texas Music Awards and was featured alongside a stellar cast of characters (Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark) in the documentary, “For the Sake of the Song.” His first two studio albums were well received by national and international Americana radio, both earning the #1 spot on the Euro Americana Chart. “Raven Hotel” his third – and possibly best – record also hit the top spot on the Euro charts after its release in 2014. As with each collection, the newest one features a musical roux that showcases Harlan’s literary grit with a variety of moods to fit the many themes on the record. In his recent travels, Matt has shared stages with Americana greats such as Guy Clark, James McMurtry and up-and-comers like John...

Fischer Fest

[portfolio_slideshow id=1646] Welcome to the “New” website for Cabin 10, Inc. You will find that some things have changed a bit but at the very bone, we’re still the same. We received some good advice somewhere along the way… “Keep your eye on the prize… good music, good friends and a good atmosphere! Maintain these three pieces of the puzzle and all others will fall into place.” Changing the name of the Rice Festival was easy enough, since the event is held in Fischer at Fischer Hall on Fischer Store Road, the new name of Fischer Fest seemed logical. However, losing access to Rice Harrington’s great and colorful art work was something we hadn’t thought about. After much discussion and deliberation, the Bored came up with a plan; Why not expand on our scholarship program with the San Marcos Education Foundation, and sponsor a competition to create the festival...

Ghosts of the American Road

[portfolio_slideshow id=1578] From their press section: “With the release of Find Your Shine, it became imperative that we learn to navigate the landscape of the touring songwriter, which Barbara did with great conviction; taking Find Your Shine to #53 on the Americana chart, #16 on the FAR (international) chart, and booking national tours. Little did we know how much growing we would do on this journey, not only as performers, but as human beings. Over the course of the last four years, we have traveled the country extensively in little more than our trusty Toy Box, (with 325,000 miles on it), some camping gear, a really good CD, our instruments and a lot of praying, (more in the way of thanks than in hopeful...

Jack Wilson

[portfolio_slideshow id=953] Jack Wilson was born in Austin. He grew up two minutes away from Townes Van Zandt’s Clarksville trailer home. Jack met Jerry Jeff Walker when he was 12. Last month they shared the stage at the Saxon Pub at a late night song swap for an intimate crowd that didn’t see it coming. Went to college, got busted, went to Seattle, started a band. Lived in basements, drank a mountain of PBR, just like everyone else. Met amazing musicians, at home in Austin and in Seattle alike. Kept writing. Got sober. Released his self titled album in May of 2010 and watched it climb to the top of 90.3 Seattle Radio KEXP’s Americana chart for ten weeks of May, June and July 2010. That effort earned Jack a slot at SXSW 2011, and has been accepted to Pandora Radio. Jack Wilson has had the honor to share stages with Sean Lennon, The Neville Brothers, Two Gallants, Sera Cahoone, The Head and the Heart, Anais Mitchell, The Moondoggies, Damien Jurado, Elliott Brood, and The Mother...
